Probably hit the coil at full droop during installation. My SPC ball joint developed a tear there too; but I was able to buy replacement boots and swapped them in without replacing the ball joint.

I've run OME UCA's on my pro for about two years with zero issues. got the additional caster I needed to run 285s with mud flaps with zero issues.

Did you have to use spacers? Overall thoughts on the 285's?

Allergic to spacers and they often cause more rub. Having 0mm offset wheels and the aftermarket UCAs are super helpful. Love the 285's and especially these coopers. They're quiet, balance well and the same weight as my previous 265/75/16's. I like the beefier sidewall look of 285/75/16 but there are way lighter options in 285/70/17. All the 285's for 16's are E and D Rated.

I first thought I wanted 4 degrees but ended up slightly north of 2.5 degrees and have been happy with it.

Awesome thanks. I just got the bfg ko3's in 285/75/16 today. Might have to mess with alignment a bit since I have a 2 1/2 lift with OME UCA's and I think they set em to factory alignment specs. Have to cut some of the mudflap off, but other than that seems to look good

you should try to get more caster than factory spec, cause factory specs on a lifted truck wont be as good. you may have to find a shop that specializes in lifted vehicles to get you the positive caster you need, a basic alignment shop may not know hot to get more caster. Look into rokblokz mudflaps, they are a little pricey, but the only flaps that I know of that work with lifts and bigger tires

Awesome, thanks for the advice. I went ahead and ripped the front mudflaps off for now, might even do a little fender chop down the road. Ill give it a few weeks and see how it rides, and if it gives me trouble I'll take it to a specialty shop. Ive been hearing good things about firestone and their lifetime alignment option.
