I’m guessing the lower ball joint on my 1996 Tacoma had been replaced some time in the past 30 years but just in case I’m planning on just doing it as a preventative measure.

So my question is what are a good price for a set? On yota1 they are going for $200 each so $400 total. I trust yota1 but it’s crazy how much more they are there vs everywhere else. I have heard you don’t cheap out on this one part and go with OEM lower ball joints and I respect that, just hard finding sets that meets or exceeds OEM specs for $100-300. I even find sets that meet and exceed OEM specs with a 3 year warranty that are $55.

So any advice would be super appreciated

Order the LBJ TSB kit: 04005-03235
    https://toyotaparts.ourismantoyotao...Nna03nkQX2F6CvBRjhYGio504Jc5kL6PtKRkVAesINKid
Only includes left and right LBJs, no hardware, but its way cheaper this way.

And 8 bolts: 90119-10933 (These are the 37 ft lb bolts Do not torque to 59 ft lbs)

Might need to run to Harbor freight and grab an assortment of 500 cotter pins for $5 if you don't already have those on hand as well.

Should be out the door around $200.

Don’t bother looking at “specs”, get actual OEM Toyota-branded LBJs. The consensus is that they hold up the longest.

Check Toyota dealer sites for the baseline price, then find some dealer that’s doing a discount.

    Avoid eBay and Amazon.

Ourisman Toyota has them listed for around $132 each. Either order from them, or go to your local parts deal and show them Ourisman's advertised price and request that they price match.

EDIT: disregard the part #'s above and order what @time623 specified. Still suggest pricing them on Ourisman's website and then requesting local dealer price match though
