Oh... and while I'm dealing with the water leak I've already started rebuilding the deck so I'm into it and trying to get it done before getting into the water leak. I still have to find matching shingles but other than the roof it's done.

    20250904_163343.jpg

And we had a cool visitor this morning. He intimidated the hummingbirds for awhile but then they came back and teased him.

    20250906_111903.jpg 20250906_111739.jpg

See this rock I used for the step? It was under the old deck and encased in concrete. I found it by using a sledge to break up the concrete so I could move it. Somebody had made forms and poured 4/6 inches of concrete around it. Beautiful piece of sandstone.

    Evening all:

I have been across that bridge many times over the last 55 years or so, mainly to fish, pretty sure that bridge was built by the Delaware River Bridge Commission, thought you may have been crossing further North in an area I'm not familiar with.
I have tokens somewhere that I didn't cash in when they no longer accepted them, cost 2 tokens to cross with a boat trailer which was all of 20c, now it's $7.50 for the vehicle and boat trailer with EZ pass, $9.00 without EZ pass. :(
I'm just glad it's only a one-way toll, FOR NOW, wouldn't doubt that down the road they will start charging for both ways which would be an enormous increase in revenue! :bucket:

Ugh... I Have an outpatient surgery coming up soon. They want an "interview" up front (so they can scare the hell out of me first). Just a way to squeeze more $ out of my insurance co. Been there, done that. I'll play along.

I pass through PA three times a year. Having pit up with 20 years of construction of the PA turnpike from Breezwood to the Ohio state line i think the money is spent pretty wisely, but then what do I know.

I do not mind the upfront visit, I had a really good surgeon that practiced patient first. He told me straight up what I needed to do and why I needed to do it.

Good morning. Late night last night. The songwriters were great and the food from the food truck was better than decent. They had me at tater tots and the chopped brisket put it over the top.

"Outpatient" could mean a hangnail, a vasectomy, or a heart transplant the way they are doing surgery nowadays. Insurance doesn't like people staying in expensive rooms.

    Soooo...

Anybody have any ideas about how to dry out a crawlspace? I figure about 8000 gallons of water went in there before we realized there was a leak. Some will have made it's way to the water table, I suppose, but some may be stubborn and want to keep the crawlspace moist.

Put a couple fans in the crawl space and let them run 24 hrs a day for a couple days. Be sure that the crawl space is well vented. There is no quick way to do this.

Travir, don’t know what kind of fans you have but you don’t want to use a little house fan. You can rent high output fans from a rental place if they will fit down there.
