Yeah, looks good, real good. No doubt, in my mind, the red recovery hooks help with the visuals.
    Thanks for the post.

I did hear that on a Friday.

I could see some looney dealership trying to get out of warranty coverage when Toyota covers the hybrid components for longer than the rest of the truck. Removing the air dam on the OR Max is altering Toyota's original engineering of the hybrid truck and could probably get away with denying warranty cover on the hybrid components. That would benefit them financially.

No it doesn't have anything to do with the warranty but if a dealer or Toyota can find a way to weasel out of a waranty claim on a nine year old hybrid battery replacement what's stopping them?

If that was the case why wouldn't they use bigger wheels and tires to deny engine / transmission failure, deeming it due to the higher load of the heavier wheel and tire setup?

If they didn't honor their warranty because of small shit like removing an air dam or aftermarket wheels there would be a shitstorm.

Some dealerships are offering to take the air dam off for new owners.

What stands out to me is the rear bumper design/improved approach angle on the new Tacoma's in comparison to the 3rd gens.

Yeah, everyone doing the TH exhaust dump mod when the tailpipe is actually higher than the previous gen that no one complained about getting hung up when offroading.

Yeah, I’m looking forward to taking the new off road to Hollister Hills within the next few weeks. While my Pro looks like it did the day I bought it, less some pinstripes on the fender flares, the underside of the bumper has been road graded. Hell I’m surprised I still have a bumper. I’ll never forget the day I thought I lost the bed sep- found it behind the bumper. ;-)

We've hit almost every local public dirt road in the Bay Area in the 4G except for Hollister. I wanna do it but if you stick to the Greens you'll have done the loop in maybe 30 mins max, and if you do the B lues it can be pretty gnarly  I guess you could just drive the Green trails in a circle till you get bored :D

I think I'll save that wear and tear for another offroad trip in SoCal. Already did Santiago peak.

We were up there this past Mother’s Day. My friend wanted to test out his completely new suspension, wheels and tires. Because he rides he knew the place inside-and-out, so we weren’t there long. No matter, it was a rear bumper smash fest, and that includes my friend who had a brand new leaf pack that lifted his rear by at least an inch.
I did spend a lot time of in Owen’s valley with the Pro last year, it was not lost on me how much time I spent/wasted picking a line just to accommodate the funking rear bumper.
    Are you in Bay Area?

Yeah we're in the Bay too. Already drove La Gloria road and Old Coast Road. Seems like SoCal has a lot more dirt access. Santiago peak was awesome, if I lived down there I'd be up there a few times a year.

Hollister will just beat the fk out of the truck and I'm more into using dirt to see views most people don't get to see vs offroad playground.

We're actually trying to move down there next year and access to more dirt is a big contributor to that push lol :D
