Pretty sure rodents have been chewing wires long before they started using soy. Probably why there hasn’t and won’t be a lawsuit.

I like snap traps with a little chunk of cheese and peanut butter placed along side my truck in my garage. Caught this guy today before he got to my truck.

That or cats. Both have worked very well for me. Not at the same time though, didn’t want Milo and Oscar to loose their whiskers.

My Dad had a Nissan Maxima years ago that spent most of the time garaged. A rodent managed to work it's into the cabin fresh air vents, got stuck and croaked. Talk about a nasty smell!

I had squirrels chew through a harness and were working on some fuel lines. Was quoted 7500 to repair, ended up being closer to 2k cause they were able to save the harness. No garage unfortunately

Since then, I have use the peppermint oil, installed an electronic deterrent under the hood, got some cats, and check for sign weekly. I work from home and shoot any squirrel I see out the window while on zoom calls. Fun times.

Catch a dead rat and leave it in the trap in plain sight as a warning to the other rats. Just kidding really.

I have a cat problem. They sleep on the engine and the don’t leave sometimes. Had to clean up a dead cat in front of the radiator. I think I scared the pee out of it because the valve cover is covered in something but it’s not engine oil.

I think Rustproofing is another deterrent for turning off rodents..... I don't mean just the frame, a whole body rustproofing which goes inside the engine bay, and everywhere else. :boink:

Squirrels chewed through my wiring harness. 8K repair - good thing was covered by insurance. Garage your truck if at all possible - mine was outside and idle all the time.

I agree with the rustproofing have not seen a mouse activity in this Tacoma as they spray/soak under the hood I hate cause it is such a mess but then no mice will chew into it. My Venza had mice coming through the cabin air intake into my carbon filter. Had it sprayed with Krown and never had mice issue again so it works well.
