@mk5, that's badass. I'm glad they worked. No way I was gonna pass up an opportunity to support a fellow Tacoma owner. Thinking outside the box is what it's all about.

I promise to put those gloves to good use. I already have an asian girl lined up.

Hmm I wonder about using 1" nylon webbing instead of threaded rod, and still using a hammer.

I have the Treaty Oak rope and it's worked for years (though I am on my second because they eventually do wear out).

Cool idea. I was on the trail with @Ricardo13x and he yanked an axle out using a nylon strap. We had the axel out and back in less than 30 minutes

Here's a video of him doing this method a different time.

I have done this method quite a few times but it always pops right out. If it is taking hours something is wrong or being done wrong.

Good times man! if you’re having issues pulling the cv a good tip is to spin it 1/2 a turn and re try. Sometimes the C clip catches on that random spot.

Yikes. When someone makes it look this easy to just throw a piece of nylon web strap around it and give it a hammer-yank it makes it a bit hard to get on board with the idea of a special-purpose custom-machined rig-up to do the same. I guess I'd have to try pulling & re-inserting my CVs 4 or 5 times at home in my garage to see whether the simple strap method would work for me.

I think the fact that you can use it to reinstall the axle makes it worth it. Plus, you're helping fuel someone's creativity.
