This question has been asked a zillion times here on TW. Basically some are positive on additives some aren’t. You won’t get a definitive answer. They wont harm your engine but can’t say for sure if they help. If it makes you feel good use them, if not don’t.

Your money to burn, and yes as Sprig stated this topic has been beaten to death here.
Might add a few extra octanes to the tank and make the truck feel peppier for that fill up, but other than that it's hard to prove. Some are backed by studies and such, some aren't, either way the results are dubious. I've done it a few times out of some weird subconscious anxiety that I should, lol.

Did it actually help? Short of disassembling the engine and poking around inside I'll never know. It's a thing called confirmation bias. "Oh I did this thing and therefore that's why my engine ran so long". Problem is, you lack empirical evidence.
It's the same as doing the rain dance for a month until it finally rains. Was it the rain dance? Or just chance?

Been useing Chevron Techron in my 07 since new. Has always ran great but being it's low mileage it probably should even without the additive so who the hell knows.

I used Seafoam to see if I could unstick an injector on an 05 Rubicon. In that case, a can in the tank seemed to help clear the crud and the engine ran fine since.

I have no idea what previous owners did, but routine maintenance and not letting things sit are the best to add longevity to time on the road. Stay on routine maintenance and drive them!

My fear of buying higher mileage vehicles is long gone. As long as you make a solid choice to seek out a vehicle that is proven generally reliable, maintain it and exercise it... you can easily go very high mileage.

Generally, I have not been adding stuff to fuel or oil.
