    I’ve yet to hit a trail after the SAS completion. Just keep running into various delays.. But hopefully everything will be wrapped (no pun intended) up soon!

    1st pic is the original wrap with IFS, and 35’s. Next is the wrap after a few years of weathering and having to remove the fenders. After that is how it looks currently as the new paint job is getting finished. Looks a lot cleaner, as the wrap didn’t do well on the camper latches. And I got the ding on my front passenger door fixed! Just need to get another Toyota decal.

    Ding is on the lower portion of the door.

    I'm surprised that you don't have a high clearance rear bumper on your build. Seems like it's pretty much the last thing left, at least for externally visible modifications. Granted, with 40s, it's not like that extra inch or so of clearance at the bumper is going to increase your departure angle all that much.

    Cost! At this point my pocket book is pretty bare. Between everything for the SAS, the Supercharger, exhaust, now paint, the rear bumper just hasn't been a priority. Also I would then lose my swingout which I use for my spare. Fabbing an high clearance bumper strong enough to carry a 42 or 43 is going to cost some coin.

    A swing out to carry 40”+ tire is a love hate relationship TBH. I reconfigured the existing bumper that had a swing out to accommodate the 42s by cutting and redesigning the setup and can’t tell if I like it or not. Since, the bed has been used more for the spare vs the swing. But I do like it when the bed is full of gear and spare is on the swing instead.

    Hard to decide….

    For me an additional issue is my camper shell for my wedge rtt stays on 24/7, no matter the trail. So I could only fit an 42/43 with it lying down which makes fitting all my recovery gear/tools more difficult. Do you have pics of your setup?

    Picture showed 40 but had a 42 to do the measurement. Fit tight, barely enough room to open the camper door without the tire mounted. Vertical clearance kept the 42” tire positioned lower than the shell and tuck high enough above the bumper, making the bumper the lowest portion.

    @perryparts

    This will be my honest review of Perry Parts air bump Hydro Silencer. Price comparison, you can buy 10 Delrin pads at $5 buck each or a pair of Hydro Silencer for $50.

    My initial impression is the part looks and feels flimsy but seemed to be well put together. Only time will tell if they will last or if they’re going to crumble. If they do crumble, hopefully it occurs within two years and cover under their no question ask warranty. Just wish their warranty was longer. The silencer mounting holes is slightly off and does not sit flush with the cup. There’s a picture that shows a slight gap (light) between the cup and silencer. I don’t think that will affect performance but worth mentioning.

    I got approximately 60 miles since the installed, with a mixture of in town and highway driving. I made sure to hit the turn fast and speed through bumps and pot holes for contact noise comparison between the Hydro Silencer and Delrin pad. I can confirmed that the contact noise heard with the Delrin is loud and easily noticeable. With the Hydro Silencer, the noise is near nonexistent. I find myself searching for the contact noise.

    Is it worth it? Yes.

    I don’t know if I ever noticed or heard my bumps hitting or making noise. I’d turn the radio up louder.

    On the trail, I don’t hear it. But in town, it’s definitely noticeable as the road is smooth. I will hear it from a slow ~10mph turn or when I drive over a dip/speed bump. I have a radio but it’s usually off, that’s my problem.

    If the truck is green sticker and off highway use only, I wouldn’t bother with the silencer.
