Alright, looked up the safety data sheets for them, the main ingredient is different.

No 42 is a "Poly(Ethylene Glycol) Dimethacrylate Solution" whereas the blue is a "methacrylate monomer".
    :boom:

    No 42 looks like this:

And the regular blue looks like this:

So that extra "O" is pretty important I guess...... or something....

Loctite has 2 popular consumer blues (They have a shitload of actual random industry specific formulas, its wild..) number 242 and number 243. 242 came first, and unless its bare metal requires a primer for full adhesion strength and the quickest cure time. 243 is a newer formula, has better heat and oil resistant properties, and most metals don't require a primer.

HOWEVER, what has me confused, is that the PEGDMA is supposedly the better version, but is labeled as no 42, a reference I'd guess to 242, which is the inferior product? Huh? From what I can tell from other Safety Data Sheets on loctite, the 243 is the dimethyl one, and 242 is the regular methyl.

SO, conclusion, HF no.42 is the better product with the formulation of loctite 243, even though the names should be swapped around to better match what it is referencing.
    I need another beer

    Bonus facts:
    - you can buy loctite by the gallon: https://www.ellsworth.com/products/...D0iEbm2PHU1P6ajwl-TP6ZNieHBp-RdgZ75bvwyhDzibh and https://www.ellsworth.com/products/...eadlocker-anaerobic-adhesive-blue-1-l-bottle/
    - you shouldn't touch the tip of the bottle to the bolt, as part of it activates in contact with iron and it can cause the bottle to start going bad. Drip drop it on there.
    - original loctite was yellow and glows under uv light, now called "grade B" : https://next.henkel-adhesives.com/u...-grade-b/BP000000153455/variation/199013.html
    - loctite blue is "thixotropic" and becomes thinner as you apply stress, and reforms after, which is why it spreads on threads so well as you torque it down then stiffens

Fuck give me a doctorate in loctite:bananadead:

They make a clip on kit for it. I don’t want an aggressive forward lean though.
