Alright, looked up the safety data sheets for them, the main ingredient is different.

No 42 is a "Poly(Ethylene Glycol) Dimethacrylate Solution" whereas the blue is a "methacrylate monomer".
    :boom:

    No 42 looks like this:
    upload_2025-9-12_19-47-34.png

And the regular blue looks like this:

    upload_2025-9-12_19-49-43.png

So that extra "O" is pretty important I guess...... or something....

Loctite has 2 popular consumer blues (They have a shitload of actual random industry specific formulas, its wild..) number 242 and number 243. 242 came first, and unless its bare metal requires a primer for full adhesion strength and the quickest cure time. 243 is a newer formula, has better heat and oil resistant properties, and most metals don't require a primer.

HOWEVER, what has me confused, is that the PEGDMA is supposedly the better version, but is labeled as no 42, a reference I'd guess to 242, which is the inferior product? Huh? From what I can tell from other Safety Data Sheets on loctite, the 243 is the dimethyl one, and 242 is the regular methyl.

SO, conclusion, HF no.42 is the better product with the formulation of loctite 243, even though the names should be swapped around to better match what it is referencing.
    I need another beer

    Bonus facts:
    - you can buy loctite by the gallon: https://www.ellsworth.com/products/...D0iEbm2PHU1P6ajwl-TP6ZNieHBp-RdgZ75bvwyhDzibh and https://www.ellsworth.com/products/...eadlocker-anaerobic-adhesive-blue-1-l-bottle/
    - you shouldn't touch the tip of the bottle to the bolt, as part of it activates in contact with iron and it can cause the bottle to start going bad. Drip drop it on there.
    - original loctite was yellow and glows under uv light, now called "grade B" : https://next.henkel-adhesives.com/u...-grade-b/BP000000153455/variation/199013.html
    - loctite blue is "thixotropic" and becomes thinner as you apply stress, and reforms after, which is why it spreads on threads so well as you torque it down then stiffens

Fuck give me a doctorate in loctite:bananadead:

They make a clip on kit for it. I don’t want an aggressive forward lean though.

I was absolutely not one of those Harley riders. I would even give the wave to scooters, can am’s. I don’t care what you ride just ride. That’s the way it should be.

Few from today and my crappy Shinko 244s, I tried to burn them off but still have tons of tread, the bike just doesnt see highway. My kendas will be going back on now once Im motivated.

I'll be removing the heated grips, they are loose right now and holy crap does it make offroading hard.

It didnt sell so I'll keep it another winter.

Looking pretty minty despite the cracks! IRC tires are back online now, which means I'm looking at the GP1 as well now. Winter problem to decide and see what size I can squeeze onto a 3" wide front rim.

Stopped by a dealer today and finally caught a T7 in stock. A lot bigger than I expected, not sure how I'd handle it in the trees.

Archery and black powder this week, I expected there to be more hunters.
My favorite secret spot was left untouched. I'll be back next year.

There's a creek that runs right there in the foreground that the animals come down to drink.

Secondary campground that is good for weekends, not so good for hunting.

I fucking love this bike, that trip down Old Flowers a few weeks ago really expanded my skill level. I actually passed other bikes and didn't have to pull over to let others by while I picked my way thru shit.
I was pushing it hard today and expect to be couch bound tomorrow.

Another favorite campsite, the clouds were really starting to build at this point so I only screwed around another couple hours before heading out.:D

I have a video of a close encounter with a logging truck in a few. It was stationary, I was interested in getting ahead of the convoy that was about to leave.

It's a bigger bike no lie lol. For anything actually off-road I'll be taking my klx but for around town and some light duty off-road it's a blast!
