I put 3M seam sealer over the cracks and it is held up great. I also highly recommend removing your shock and your Bump Stop when checking fitment my stuffing the tire

I put my question to the wrong person... What did you do for rear brakes? Stay with the Toyota drums or do a disc conversion? I am considering this option. 9" might be a bit more desirable, but not for the money.

I did a SAS with a Sterling 10.5" in the rear, so I sold my old setup.

And it was a noticeable improvement, once I did the rears. But I was 6,000lbs~ so it was a lot to stop, even with the front BBK, which is why I ended up swapping out the rear too for the SOS kit.

What dont you like about the stock ones?
I actually think under ideal conditions they stop really well. I dont have an overlandy truck, so its actually relatively light despite what it looks like. I just swapped out the rears for the trail gear kit and am about to put in a tundra booster and master cylinder. I didnt do it for more stopping force, since again, the truck stops well (at first). I just hated how much heat the drums hold, leading to quick brake fade. They also become useless as soon as you get them dirty.

I definitely have had serious brake fade on mountain roads. My truck has a shell and tools so it’s heavier than I’d like but that’s okay. It’s been a big difference in both stopping and accelerating power going from 35s to 37s. I’m still running stock gearing for now so it’s slow cruising. But I’ve noticed it’s a longer braking time and distance. Bigger tires are heavier so it all makes sense just something I noticed quite a bit since I jumped up in size. It’s a manual transmission if that makes any difference.

The Factory brakes are not my friends. I strongly dislike them. But I have a Tubby Taco (sits just under 6k most days), so they are not designed for what I do. This is a page I need to stay away from but... like a moth to flame. As I asked above what are options in the back for discs? I have looked at several but would like some real world input on some that work or don't. Also I, guess some input on that ECGS Dana 60 rear end. Or other such options-thats what caught my eye on here initially. been having troubles in the back, so seriously thinking about a change.

Still on 3:73 gearing? With 37's? I am on 35's with stock and know I need to make a change. 5:29 and a doubler would make me happy...

    love the flat bed.
I want to go to 4.88 but at this point I’m debating whether go keep it ifs or bite the bullet and start collecting parts for a SAS.
With the price of new gears and lockers and a major brake upgrade the SAS makes more and more sense

Yeh, I would have saved a lot of money had I not kept modifying my IFS. But I also still got to get some use out of the upgrades, so it wasn't zero sum.....

Your tuck is my goals. I’ll most likely just run it as is for a while. I need to get a second vehicle that’s more family friendly than an access cab. I plan on getting an econoline or transit van. But after that I plan to SAS the taco and really see where I can take it.
