Got the timing cover and valve cover put on the new engine. Also have some more replacement bolts on order; some of the used ones are pretty rusted, and if I'm doing this much work I'm not going to put rusty bolts back on lol

Side ask: Does anyone know how to easily remove the FIPG from the oil pans aside from razor blade scraping?

Looks good, I’m in the same boat with the size upgrade as im due for tires this winter. Just to go from my current 295’s to a 35 is a ton of work plus regearing, etc.

I borrowed a buddies 35 just to see how much work it was going to be and instantly got a reality check lol.

    upload_2025-9-15_9-53-36.jpg
    Full lock at ride hight.

I am debating doing a jd pivot kit over the winter but staying 295 to gradually over-build for 35’s

i can also still pull 14L/100km(16.8 mpg) on road trips.

You are right 35's and especially 37's are a ton of work but so worth it! You should totally do it!

I drove on my 35-in MT's for 11 months before switching to 37's.
Got them for sale here in Cali

I like the idea of 37’s, but I think 35’s are good for around my area in ontario
I think any bigger than that is getting into SAS territory since i don't really care for constant maintenance. Im getting to know the guys at my alignment shop a little too well lol

kinda at a weird crossroad right now with it cause even on 295’s the truck does everything i need it to and still gets OK(ish) gas milage for road tripping.

that being said I’m about to do a wheel bearing mid road trip lol

My 5 year old son intercepted my 5100s delivery, and I don't really have the heart to ask for them back.

Installed my paint matched grille. The clear coat is noticeably less shiny, so I will probably get 2k clear in the future. Besides that, the paint match is almost perfect.

The rears were actually in decent shape for that many miles on a 2005, They still had a few thousand miles left on them and the drums Probably could have been left on there but I went ahead but all new Everything on there. This will be the last time the rears will ever need to be done while I am still the owner of the truck unless something goes wrong.

Beautiful! Pyrite Mica is the best color Toyota offered IMO, and I can count how many of that color I've seen in person on one hand.
