Anyone have any rear axle upgrade recommendations? I have a 2016 Tacoma with the 8.75 rear axle and I have bent the housing. Jumping it, carrying to much weight in the bed while jumping it, not running quality bumps for jumping it, or shocks for the above is probably the reason.

I am installing hydro bumps and bigger beefier shocks as well just trying to figure out the rear axle while keeping the ABS stuff working. Thanks for the help and a picture of my truck for attention.

I will be running a Dynatrac ProRock 60 4" wider than stock. The axle housing is the same OD as a Tacoma but it is .313" thick vs what I understand the stock 2nd gen housing is .192". Not sure what the 8.75" housing is. And it is set up to use stock brakes and wheel speed sensors. East Coast Gear Supply, Dana Spicer and there are a few others as well do have offerings. www.jdfabrication.com may be developing a new 9" version axle to use disc brakes, unit bearings with wheel speed sensor capabilities. But you and others may have to commit to it before it actually happens and yes it would be significantly more $$$ than some of the other offerings. I think the challenge comes from what it needs to handle jumping and still use the speed sensors and tone rings. I have no intentions of jumping mine.

i just put in a Bolt in Diamond axle with arb air locker in 9.5" Land Cruiser diff. 3.5" .375"wall DOM axle tubes. uses stock brakes and axle shafts though. this was for a 2nd gen. not sure if it would work for a 3rd.

I thought they had something but checked their website and didn’t see anything.

The plan was not to jump my truck but I bent it somehow. I do a lot of off road rally’s in my truck with a lot of weight in the bed and 37s.

I do want to run a wider the factory rear axle. Due to bending the housing I am sure my factory shafts are not happy as well.

Just like Dynatrac, JD can and do a lot more than what their website shows.

Truss it. Not as strong as an aftermarket axle due to the diff and wheel bearing size, but you won't have to worry about the housing anymore.
If you havent taken care of it already, Its not very hard to straighten an axle housing with the right tools and measuring equipment.

Yes and yes. I recently handed off the design to a well known manufacturer so they can start producing them as kits at a lower price point (than me trying to just break even at $500+/kit, which wasn’t working)

I did confirm the link isn’t there anymore, not sure if it takes IG time to update? Regardless I’m not personally selling these kits anymore. They should pop up from someone else soon though.

I took over the files from @Blueberry.Taco and just wrapped up converting them to 3/16 and making a few personal preferences but overall he did a great job and its something that i think fits well with our product line. I was able to get price point down quite a bit as well. They are now active on the site. I just ordered some from laser so it'll probably be a couple weeks before i have them in hand.

nonetheless they are now available here:

Well, now I have ask: Are you going to make that for the 2nd gen 8.4" diff/axle?

edit: Also, paging @Impoy47, because you know you want that for your portal setup.
