Are you aware about the TSB for peeling white paint? Read this post carefully and look for any hints of peeling paint around your side window edges and also on the front fender top edges underneath the hood. If there is peeling, Toyota will strip the paint off the doors and fenders and repaint your cab up to the roof lines for free. Mine is being done this week, and the service center said it would cast over $10k to fix it had I paid for it out of pocket.

This stuff is not intended to last forever. Once it has served its' useful purpose, peel it off (with heat if needed), clean with solvent that doesn't damage the paint, and then choose whether to re-apply fresh material or simply leave it bare.

My 21 has this issue and drives me crazy. My TRD Off Road bed decal is doing the same, looks dirty all the way around. Also have a 2018 4 Runner and getting ready to try to remove it. Its gotten to the point where the clear plastic looks moldy underneath.

I cannot wrap my head around why they did this. I also have a 2000 Tacoma. Yes, it has some dings here and there, which I've touched up. At least it looks clean when I wash it.

Make it make sense. New vehicle should be clean when you wash it

I don't wanna risk it, so will probably pay to have it removed. This might sound crazy, but I'd rather have a few dings to the paint because this is worse. Cat jumped up there, and the hood is full of pits with dirt embedded. It looks filthy after washing.

Toyota is just not known for quality anymore they’re running on old reputation. When I bought mine in 2023 the dealer delayed delivery for six weeks for QC and when it finally arrived it had misaligned hood, misaligned rear passenger door, misaligned bed and rear bumper. Oh and a dent in the LF fender.

They made it right but if hadn’t seen it and complained they would have not cared.

Remember when a new vehicle was in great condition when you purchased it? It seems those days are gone. I'm glad you got the issue fixed.

Fortunately, it's just two small areas. It will look so much better when removed!

Took me a month to remove the front PPF. I removed mine in sections when I had free time. 2-3 hours each time. 1-2 days a week. Sometimes I skipped a week. Rapid remover and plastic blades were my friend. I haven't remove the other films on the truck.

You can see the faded color vs the protected paint color underneath the film. Truck was in the Caribbean sun for 2 years and now in a garage in Texas.

The white Lexus next to my truck had a better quality film, and I was able to remove it in one piece without leaving any residue or ripping the paint off.
