    Hey guys,
I bought my first Tacoma two months ago. I found this site several months ago when researching these trucks. I own a 91 Land Cruiser with some mods, that I use for camping and off-roading, and talked my wife into a 00 Land Cruiser, that we use for grocery getting and kid hauling. Both vehicles are great for what we use them for.

So I recently got a new job that requires a LOT of driving. I will drive between 25K and 30K miles this year. I work in the construction field and owned a Chevy 1-ton cargo van that was killing me on gas and too large for my uses at my new job. I knew that I still needed/wanted a truck, but MPG was also a concern. I looked at everything out there and kept coming back to the Tacoma.

I bought an 09 Black Pearl Sand, access cab, auto, V6, TRD, PreRunner, 76K miles. Yes, you read that right. It has a lot of miles but is immaculate both inside and out. It has complete maintenance history, it's a Toyota, and I maintain my own vehicles so high mileage does not bother me. I considered the 4WD, but with two 4WD Toyotas in the driveway it seemed pointless considering MPG is more important than offroad capability.

After two months of ownership I have to say this is a great truck. It was hard to downsize from a heavy duty extended cargo van to a light duty truck but I made the right decision. I have installed the Weathertech floor liners and love them. I have a UWS tool box ordered and that will help free up precious space in the access cab. I have had a few people stop me to comment on how good the truck looks, which is not something I'm used to.

I hope I can give as much as I take from this board.

I would be remiss if I did not mention www.ih8mud.com. This is a Land Cruiser forum with an offroad slant. I have been a member on that site for several years now. Good group of guys over there.

EDIT: Sorry, no pics yet. I'll see if I can take some pics tomorrow. I know how everyone loves eyecandy.

    Brad
