I'm going to steal your ammo once you die of thirst.

I have no idea why people feel that "bugging out" entails bringing an armory. Let's say you head to the woods - OK, great. You use your gun for food. Great, and let everyone in 3 miles know you're around (you think no one else knows to go to the woods?)

Or you go to a shelter. You think they'll let you in with 3 firearms?

Or your vehicle breaks down. That's 10-20lbs of weight to lug around.

And you're carrying like 2 quarts of water. That'll be gone on day one.

The list looks ok... but I bet the item quality is for shit. Play with it for a while though and form your own opinions.

This a lot more similar to what I'd have compared to the OP's.

Add in some tarps to make a shelter out of, a fire starter, and a water purifying system and I think you'd be able to make it long enough to find someone else keeled over from having to carry half of walmart around "just in case"

As I said, mine is a two person bag. And yes, smart ass, they make fantastic bandages for serious wounds. Ask any horse owner, they work great.

I like some of these responses lol....

The one about using your gun for food but letting everyone know your there, thats why they have silencers.

Of course its not completely silent but makes it less noticeable

Agreed. But not always legal. And sometimes difficult to acquire. Now, I won't go into making your own....

Aside from what I take backpacking including tent, sleeping bag and stove: a full tank of gas, a couple guns w/ammo supply, an axe and hatchet. All that other crap is just a crutch that Madison Ave. deluded you into thinking are important.

But most importantly: the Foxfire books, Vol. 1 and 2 at least. If you can't learn, really quick, how to make everything you need off the land you'll never make it.

My wife has been reading all these "end of the world" type books lately, like The Road. She has started thinking about leaning to can foods and stock up on other goods. After reading this thread I realized I should get some sort of plan together. Thank You
