whatcha buying?!?! I can't really think of anything that I need right now...operative word being 'need'. Give me 20 minutes in the store and I'll find something! I like getting my big ticket items there just because of their 100% satisfaction guarantee but they are a little spendy on some things so I try to plan ahead and wait for the coupons.

$20 and you get a rewards dividend (annual cash back) on all regular priced purchases so that helps too and 3 or 4 20% coupons a year!

My $20 has more than paid for itself...GPS, snowshoes, sleeping pad, shoes, clothes, ....the list goes on....

Just mounted my GoPro to my backpack frame. Used the bike mounts that tighten down by screws. should be pretty cool. We will see if I get any good shots. backpacking trip in about 4 weeks.

on my list to buy in the next few weeks:

Sven 15" saw (dead standing wood only!)
    Jetboil 1.5L cooking pot
    new filter for my Katadyne

Get to really test the new skeeter beeter hammock too.

    here ya go

It is the handlebar/seat post mount
    http://www.amazon.com/GoPro-Handleb...5WIA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1305765236&sr=8-1

If you have an internal frame pack, I am sure one of the strap mounts will work. Or strap a stick around the outside of the pack and mount the handlebar mount to that.

edit: I took a little rubber strip and placed it between the backpack frame and mount to keep it from slipping. You can see it in the last pic.

thanks David. Between the gopro and my digital camera, I usual get some sweet shots. I am going on a full moon weekend which should make it even better for picture opportunities. Taking a girl from school with me who has never backpacked before so... the mount be off the backpack and in the living quarters too... :p

this is one of the many reasons I love my external and still have not gotten myself to make the switch to internal frame packs. so many mounting options

Here's some from two weekends ago.

This was at Doll Mountain Campground on Carter's Lake in Ellijay GA.

Not exactly roughing it but a good night with my buddies. The people at the campsite next to us decided to come hang out with us for a while and drink with us. I also wanted to be able to have easy access to the boat for fishing.

Truck is packed up and ready to go. Borrowed my grandfathers john boat.

Shot of the campsite. The lake is in the mountains so the banks are super steep. hence the reason for the decks. Haha our site had electric hookup but all we really used it for was a phone charger.
