The diff drop is for the front differential. It says not needed, which is probably true. But just to be sure and for a little added security I ordered and installed one. I recomend it. It was the eaisiest part of the job to do. Maybe 15 min. at the end. It will lessen the stress on the other parts of your front drivetrain. By dropping the front diff one extra inch it helps keep it in line with the axles.

I would definately get the front diff drop kit. anything that helps keep the stock angles is a good thing. Less wear on your joints and less likely to get extra vibration from the lift from what i understand

do you get that from toytec also?? looked on their website and didn't see it?

also, can I install it after i do the lift?? a week or so later? or would it be a lot easier to do it all at once?

Yep they come from Toytec. You can do it anytime. It is cheap and quick. But the sooner you do it the less wear on your front CV joints.

My truck handles better than stock. Because the toytec spacer kit and add-a-leaf kit make the suspension stiffer, it is much better on the road. I havent had any issues with the ride quality.

the allignment shop said they could not get the allign. in spec. i don't know the 3 diff. specs, camber, and something else and something else hehe

anywho, he brought the numbers in spec to have even tire wear, but whatever adjust drifing and straight line driving was off... he said to bring it back to spec he would have to mess with the tire allignment for even wear to have crappy wear, or check with toyota or someone and see if there was a "kit" to be able to adjust the allingment more....

i am too dumb on the subject to listen and repeat accuratley hehe

    yeah rick,

i took them and they said every car/truck is diff. and they needed to just hook up the equiptment and make adjustments...

i didn't know enough about the matter to argue with them.

Every truck that is lifted needs to have an alignment done. With the toytec lift the adjustment will be maxed out. It will ride right, but will be maxed out. You cannot lift the front end of an 05-08 tacoma more than 3" without replacing things. There is not enough room for adjustment

So is it common for 3" lifts to cause this drift? Does anyone else have problems likethis or are most people fine after they lift theirs?

My wife got a little pissed. I told her I was going to order some "parts" my truck. $305 later....."did you get that lift you've been talking about?". Haha woman, it's already ordered, can't stop me now!
