    another reason, OP, is there are law officers on this site as well. 99% of them are cool as shit, but they have the ability to search your personal info. while if its not related to a case im pretty sure it's illegal, but either way, better safe then sorry. . . . and by me saying that, don't think im a cop hater, im not. if you want to know what kind of cops i don't want seeing my licence plate numbers, follow the 2nd quote in my sig to a certain thread lol (*whisper voice* OP was a cop).
