So I will be getting a 6 inch lift and I'm looking for tires and wheels. I would like to go with BFG A/T. My problem is knowing what size rim I should go with and what size tire. What is the right combo between rim and tire to get the most height out of it(for BFG A/T). Of course keeping in mind that I want to stay clear of having to re-gear my truck. How big can I go safely?

Good question! I will probably go the same route, so I will be interested in the replies. I found several nice looking trucks w/6" lifts over on customtacos.com. A few of them had 20" wheels w/ 33's. I like that look, but the jury is still out.

17's with a 33" tire would be best IMO if you don't want the chance of having to regear. A BFG in 305/65/17 would probably look best. If you can find a 295/70/17 thats roughly a 34" tire and would fill out the fenders better but is probably in the realm where you'd be thinking of a regear.

Thanks thats exactly the kind of info i needed. What is the rim specs i will need to fit this tire and my Taco? Obviously 17 inch 6 lug but what about width and distance between lugs...and where can i find a nice black set of rims. I have rhino linered my whole 07 taco double cab and think that would set it off nicely. As for the tires you recommended, BFG website says they dont make a 295/70/17. can anyone disprove this? I found the 305/65/17 however a 285/70/17 is $50 cheaper and i gain .10 inches but lose 3/4 inch in width. i think im going the cheaper route if i can't find the 295's. jsut having trouble finding a rim.

    the Rim should be a 6on5.5 bolt pattern and either a 17x9 with 5" BS or a 17x8(or 8.5) and a 4.5" BS.
Here is a link to the wheels i have but in black, and another link to some nice Procomp wheels
also check out Motometal and KMC XD series wheels.
