Do you have the JBL system?! I had it and the last time I was deployed my wife got a touch screen installed but the sub wouldnt work with a new head unit. Sounded like crap (tin can) so got new speakers, amp, and sub out of it. Someone on here probably knows a work around but just something to think about if you didnt plan on changing out speakers.

BTW- JBL door speakers/amp/sub= CHEAP made crap once you pull it out and look at it.

If you dont find a way around it, just a word of caution. There is virtually no bass (if any) without the sub working.

I couldve probably delt with it for a couple weeks (I was on R&R anyways) but the wife was like hell no!

:edit- btw good luck, hope it works out for ya!

When I installed the pioneer unit in our 05 4runner I had to buy the digital box to hook it to the jbl system. The jbl amp is digital and w/o a digital signal it won't turn on. Idk if it is the same in the tacoma's or not but that's what I had to do. The thing was like $130 shipped. To tell you the truth if it was my 4runner I would have ripped out the entire jbl system and redone it right. It doesn't sound right with the digital box.
