Jumping Air Bag Switch

Hello, I have a 2008 Tacoma Std. cab. Took out bench seat and out in a set of buckets. None of the seat wiring matched cause the seats were out of a sedan. Can I jumper the switch that was in the bench seat that lets the computer know there's someone in the seat? I was thinking I could take the switch out of the bottom of the seat, reconnect the plug and solder the wires together? Air bag dash light is on and I figure they are no longer activated. That wouldn't work. The airbag computer needs to see a very specific amount of resistance in the wiring in order for it to know that the occupancy sensor is there and functioning as well as the seat belt tension sensor and seat position sensor. Sorry

 

Well, no air bags is still better than the bench . I've driven 40 years without them. I guess you couldn't put a resistor inline or anything else? Thanks for saving me the trouble of fooling with it. Best regards, Doug

 

There is a thread on here that shows a member removing the airbag sensor system from the bench seat and installing it in single seat. It is not the difficult. From the pictures it is not an electrical sensor but more like an air bag. You will have to do a search for the link, my computer is being funky.
