Modifications? Umm, I got those little convex mirrors attached to the side view mirrors...
-just joined recently, as you can tell. I have, of course been lurking around the various sections looking for stuff I should know now that I have my first Tac.

This Toyota stuff just started a couple months ago when my lease was coming due on my Dodge Dakota 4dr, 4x4. I own a retail business and the only day I have off is Sunday to look and consider a new vehicle. I had been wanting a either a Toyota or a Honda- mainly due to the mess that the “former big 3 automakers” created. My wife and I drove over to the next town where there was a dealer with Sunday hours! To make a long story short, we liked the salesman and we ended up with a new lease on a Rav4! Well, my wife took that vehicle over real quick- so that left me with "her car", a nice, but low, uncomfortable-to-me, 2000 Mercury Cougar. I immediately started looking for another truck- just for me. I didn't want another 4 door. I started looking for a low mileage small basic 4X4 truck. I called my new friendly dealer and let him know I was looking. I became obsessed with checking Autortrader. Craigslist, and Ebay on a regular basis. Finally I found a sharp looking, clean, 2005 Ford Ranger 4X4 with low miles. I bought the Ford after working out a deal with the dealer which I had leased 2 other Rangers from previously.
About a week later we were again in the town where we leased the Rav4, so we stopped by to say hello. As we were getting out to go inside, my wife spotted a Red Tacoma sitting outside and remarked what a nice looking truck it was. We quickly learned it was JUST TRADED IN and hadn’t even been gone over yet by the dealer! I lamented how bad timing was for me since I had just bought a truck, but not a Toyota! The salesman said, let me work some numbers and see what I can come up with-- just to see...
A week later we came to some agreeable numbers and I drove home a mint condition red 2006 Tacoma 4X4! We are now a Toyota Family!
As with any vehicle there are things that need to be improved and personalized. As soon as the weather changes from a frigid Michigan northern winter I plan on doing some stuff!

Yup! I already ordered my TW window sticker!

    Happy New Year everyone!
    Joe

MI eh! I've got relatives on both sides of my family in Michigan -- my mom's side is in the farm country outside of Owosso, while my dad's side is near Detroit.
    Welcome aboard!
