be careful there, since we all interpret what we can and can't do to others differently, then the golden rule could be misinterpreted.

I'm sure there is someplace it breaks down, but I haven't found it. In your example it would be obvious you were causing pain, so you would stop and apologize and not do it again.

I'm against the death penalty, but mainly because I see flaws in any justice system we can devise. If I knew without a doubt that a person was guilty I would have no problem with executing them. Unfortunately there are too many innocent people locked up for me to feel ok with the death penalty.
