hey guys, ive read a lot of posts and need a little help. I bought a procomp suspension lift with new coils and struts with an aal in the rear. 3" lift. I also ordered some camburg ball joint style uca's for any alignment issues. I was all set to order 275/65 R18 duratracs with some moto metal rims when i found out that size tire is 10 ply... Too hard to run on this truck.

So now im looking at running 285/70 R17 (8ply) or 265/70R17 (6ply). The moto metals i will be ordering are 4.5"backspacing. The thing that i was trying to avoid was chopping the shit outta my truck and really low mpg's.

I dont mind lower mpg's and some mild trimming but dont wanna cab mount chop or lose fender flares etc.

What should i do??? ps im really set on the duratracs.

Your only option to avoid any major trimming and chopping is to stick with the 265s bud

As far as i know 265/70 R17 are only bout an inch taller.....i thinking on running them on my taco w/out lift and stock rims.....if you don't do any mayor off road you should be ok with 285, they'll rub when you flex.
Some guys are running them with just bilsteins 5100, that's only 2.5 lift or less.....also as far as i know you may need to cut inside the fender not the flare or something....i'll be running 285's soon....but im doing the spindle lift on my prerunner and that's 4 inch.....good look

Check out some 255/80/17 tires. You should get better mpgs than the 265s or 285s and their will be less rubbing.

With 3 inch you will have to trim a lot to squeeze 285's on a 4.5 backspace rim. I have 285s and 4.5 inch RCD and still had to do a little trimming.
