Can a chevy 350 fit right in the hood of a tacoma with out cutting

Can a chevy 350 small block slide right in a 96 tacoma with out cutting the fire wall. My friends said it wont go in there unless you start cutting the fire wall and etc. They act like they done did that for years and aint never swapped a engine before.

 

Doubtful it'll fit. I know a guy that has a 350 in a late 80s model. Took him a while to cut n fab parts so it would work. And after ya do the engine n tranny swap you'll need to put new axles under it.

 

i forgot what year i heard it was but some guy put an ls1 into a tacoma with only cutting 1 crossmember? i doubt that though you got alot to fit under the hood

 

I was on craigslist and I did see a 1st gen tacoma single cab with a 350 motor. With mods, straight axle lots of lift and big tires.

Me and some friends was talking about something done forgot now and I said I can put a 350 motor in my tacoma and they said I would have to cut the fire wall just to put the motor in. Cutting the cross member sounds more right to me then cutting the fire wall. They just act like they know it all.

 

I put a stroked 350 into an 83' but really it just took cutting crossmember and engine mounts to fab new ones.

the chevy motor is OHV so it should not be as tall the the taco motor cuz the Taco motor has the cams on top, adding a lot of height.
