2004 tacoma HID headlight problems (looks like crap and is all over the place)

I have a 2004 tacoma that has 6000k i have had 4300k 6000k 8000k 12000k and 30000k all on this same truck i have never been able to get that clean bright look that a lot of other cars and trucks have it always seems scrambled around even with a glare shield and i have noticed that the top part of the reflector is starting to get a burnt look almost like someone had a lighter it turned a fogy white instead of the mirror color is that from hids getting too hot or something it wasnt like that until recently when i had 12000k's hooked up is there anyway to get a clean straight beam without having to retrofit a projector by possibly messing with the aiming which i still havent been able to figure out

 

and i know that supposedly hid's run cooler then halogens and shouldn't melt or distort anything but i have never run any halogens on it since i bought it only hids the whole time

 

You will never get a clean cut off with a plug and play kit. You may get a better beam if you get a set of clear aftermarket headlights, like TYC. 4300k is the best imo, you have better light output.

Your best bet is to retrofit, if you want it perfect

 

Not sure why you're having this problem, where are you getting your kits from? Have they all been from the same place because you could just be getting cheap kits.

 

You need to focus the light. Without doing that you aren't going to get the output you are talking about. Do some research on retrofitting the FX-R there are some great write-ups.
