Thats interesting since I had a 4" hole in the front of my air box similar to yours. I just replaced it not to long ago with a regular solid intake box, removed the fender well baffle and have gained about .5 mpg within the last tank and my truck seems smoother and my intake temperature so far has not reached more than 5 degrees above ambient. With the hole I used to get intake temps 15+ degrees hotter.

When I have time this summer, I will play around with the 2 air boxes and put some recorded pictured values.

    Thanks man!

I have few things in the works...

    - grille & emblem painted gloss black (same color as my headlights)
    - I traded my hood for scooped hood, which needed some TLC. I ordered the OEM hood grill, OEM hood cushions, need the part which goes behind the OEM hood grill, few of the mounting holes on the plastic scoop part are messed up and wont hold screws in, so I am going to JB weld them :D The plastic scoop part is painted gloss black like the grill and BHLM
    - OEM power inverter. I still have to wire it in. Outlet in bed is already installed. Once the inverter works, I am going to put power outlet in the cab too!

    Wish list

    - 4.56 gears in the rear end... You have NO idea how much acceleration sucks with 31's and 3.33 gears in the rear end
    - Powertrax lunchbox locker. Once I have the rear open why not throw it in...

truck looks really nice man. I thought about bigger tires but the main reason I bought the 4cyl was to save gas being that I have a long commute.

I never measured my gas either but with 32" tires, my speedo is off about 5mph.

How do you install the cruise control on an 09 5-lug manual? If you have the clutch switch assembly and cruise control stalk are all the wire connections already on the truck and you can just plug into them?

You need a wire from stalk to steering wheel, part number: 84633-04020 and you should also get the dteering wheel cover, part number: 45186-0C020-B1 Steering wheel cover (order based on your steering wheel cover color). The steering wheel cover is not necessary, but if you dont get it, you will have a large hole in your steering wheel around the stalk.

OEM seems to be the way to go. It's a lot less complicated and cheaper. Rostra was $217 and installation seemed more involved. Like removing the glove box and drilling holes in the plastic with a template. I priced out a Toyota dealer @ $168 for cruise control parts and it's more of a plug and go deal assuming the wiring for cruise is already there in a non cruise 2009. Thanks for the help.

haha. I was talking about the OEM cruise control install. I got all the OEM parts then found out my truck was not pre-wired and I was unable to figure it out.

As far as gears.. I am running 31s and going to 32s and will upgrading to 4.10s. I just dont know which ones to buy (I rather have new ones then used).
