Tacoma boat?

I know people may think it's dumb, retarded, etc... But it's something I though about a while back and still wonder on time to time.
How extensive of a project would it be to turn a Tacoma into a truck/boat like the old car/boats. I know what it'd involve. Water proofing cab and engine and everything else. Also hooking up propeller in rear and alot more. But do you think the truck ways to much for this sort of thing?
I just think it'd be awesome to pull up to water and drive into it.

 

That is pretty cool I'll give you that. But not the same. I can't drive my quadski on the highway to get to more water. I'd have to pull the quadski with my tacoma. I'd rather just drive the truck in.

I cant imagine why you would want to waste the truck and money when you can just buy a boat though. Incase you dont know anything about boat designs, trucks are not designed to cut through the water. It just wouldnt be practical.

That's why some kind of plate would need to be v'ed on bottom of truck. I'm no boat designer but have enough common sense to understand the basics of boat designs. And wouldn't be wasting a truck if it worked. But the bed filling with water on sharp turns could be a problem. And I was going for sleek two propellers or so under bumper maybe. Not a big mercury hanging off the tailgate.

I started working on a 65 coupe mustang when I came across a fastback roof. Everyone told me I was crazy for swapping the roof but it worked out for me. Now I hear I am crazy/sacrilegious for putting a Corvette c4 suspension under it. I say if you got the drive, go for it! Time and money will inevitably follow, or in my case lack of money. Bottom line: if you can't buy it, build it.
