3" OME lift with 885 coils on nitrocharger 90000 shocks with 5mm trim packer on driver's side, TC UCAs, Rear OME Dakar leafs with nitrocharger shocks, All-pro U-bolt flip kit and 3* Toytec shims, extended rear brakelines, 16" Raceline Rockcrusher 887 wheels with 3.6" backspacking, BFG KM2 305/70/16 tires, Doug Thorley header, Doug Thorley catback exhaust, Volant CAI with ram air, Weathertech floor mats, Kicker 12" sub, Kenwood 500W RMS amp, Relentless Fab front and rear bumpers, 4.88 gears, custom flatbed with swing out tire carrier
Mine were worst than that. Ive now had mine worst than that and better than that so I know pretty damn good how they should be looking. And if I thought mine were fine, I wouldnt have removed the spacer.

And if his are an 8-9, then mine would have been a 10. I've seen angles worst than mine were, so there's no way mine were a 10 (because a scale of 1-10 only goes up to 10 if that wasnt clear for u)

Haha, Your Scale Isn't An Exact Science, But I Have To Agree. I Realize That They Are On The Outer Edge Of What Is Ideal, But I Have Seen Guys Run Worse Angles Than What I Have. I Knew When I Installed The Lift That My CV Angles Would Increase, Which Decreases Their service Life. Thats All Part Of The Game. I Expect To Replace U-Joints, CVs, Ball Joints, And All Of The Other Suspension Related Goodies Sooner Than What I Would Have If I Left My Truck Stock. But Who Leavs A TACO Stock? Haha

So in 2 months you become a pro regarding CV's? Im not trying to start a pissing match, just give the OP sound advice. If he knows they are near their limits, and what to expect in the future, then fine. Most people will fore go the 1/2" extra lift, and keep the CV's nearer their operational limit.

To add, Especks' CV's looked just as bad as the OP's.

4.5 inch front suspension lift, 3 inch rear end block lifts, 4 inches total lift, k&n cold air intake, racing shocks, front bilstien rear fox shocks, n fab pre runner light bar/bumper with fog lights, 33 inch nitto dune grapplers and ballistic jester 18 inch wheels.
i have the same lift as you do and i got the extra lift too. i had my cv bust before i put it on with no lift and had to replace it. now i have been running it for almost a year and a half and mine have been fine. those boots are crap and they will bust eventually anyways, might as well just enjoy the lift and take the risk anyways i would say. thats what im doing atleast.

dust will stick to most LUBricants and they will wear faster.

CV angles look bad as most people have said, fins are touching and will wear... will probably ride better and have more down travel if you take the spacers out as well

BUT its your truck and you call :D

I'm Going To Enjoy How Nasty The Truck Looks With The Extra Lift And Take A Gamble On The Boots. I Do Very Little Off-Roading And Only Drive about 8,000 Miles A Year, So Even If They Only Last 20,000 Miles, I'll Only Have To Replace Them About Once Every 3 Years. It's Worth It To Have The Extra Height To Me. Some Boots Rip Prematurely With Stock Suspension, and Some That Are At High Angles Have Long Lives. It seems To Me That There Is More Than Just CV Angle That Plays A Role In How Long The Boots Last. Thanks For The Input Everyone.:)

You should really consider Chris's opinion. In the short while I've been lurking here, I have already seen him right or call something before it happened on 3+ occasions.

You've gotta be careful of people's opinions on a public forum, usually there are a VERY select few worth listening to. Read responsibly and learn to ignore the advice from the inexperienced or borderline experienced.

Learn to listen to the maniacs on the subject, especially when they're so willing to educate you.

If I Drove The Truck A Lot Of Miles, Or Wheeled Often, I Would Take The Spacer Out As Chris Suggested. Since The Lift Is Mostly For Looks, and I Live About 4 Miles From My Work, I Will Leave Them In For Now. I'm Not Saying I Won't Change My Mind. If I start Eating Boots I Will Take It Out. I Hope I Can Update All Of You In Another 20-30k Miles And Tell You My Boots Are Still With Us.....Only Time Will Tell.:D
