I swapped my 6000K bulbs for a pair of 4300K bulbs (Slimbubby) works fine. Ballasts are from the 6000K bulbs.

It depends if there is a cutoff. If they are blinding oncoming drivers then yes they will pull you over. I also heard from an Leo at the bbq we had a few weeks back that they are going to start pulling people over for the cheapo HiD's. They aren't dot approved and are creating a hazard or something like that.

How would that even be possible. You can't look at a headlight and tell if a HID conversion is a "cheapo" kit or if it is or isn't DOT approved
I mean an obvious sign of a cheap kit would be a flicker or something like that, but besides that how could you tell?

He's probably talking more about dropped in hids in misaligned halogen housings

I am a big fan of HID conversions in stock headlight housings (even tho I have projectors)
But PLEASE aim them properly. I hate driving with my girlfriend in her Chrysler 300 at night when dick heads with trucks blast their HIDs in our face

This is why I carry my HID flashlight that I made (plugs in cigarette lighter) and I'll just shine it out the back window at em :)
