2009 4WD Reg cab Taco. Keepin it simple.
So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
So. I looked at a few small pickups to replace a 13 year old dog face and the Tacoma was the clear winner. No competition. Had pretty luck with that Dakota but I took care of it.
Now I'm loving my 2009 Tacoma. Kept it simple. Manual Transmission. 4cly engine. Everything pretty basic. I bought my new ride without even seeing it first. The dealers here can't keep em on the lot more than a day. I had the choice between a red one or silver. I chose the red. The dealer told me three people came in and wanted to buy it as it was being unloaded from the truck. Clearly I made the right choice.
My pet peeve is not so much the truck but Toyota. They put the worst tire on it. Dunlop Grandtrex AT20 . Wow do they suck. No traction at all in the snow. Quiet ride but if you're in the ditch it doesn't matter. Looking at Goodyear SilentArmors or maybe DuraTracs. My son has DuraTracs on his Ranger and loves them. His buddy has SilentArmors and he likes those too.
Also want to do fog/driving light, Bull Bar for the front and maybe a small lift down the road.
My Tacoma is my only ride, well I have bicycles, so I need to have a reliable truck for everything I do. I'm pretty happy with it so far.
