it all comes down to the region of the country you live in and it's weather and terrain...

if you live where there is desert and like to go out there and play... then maybe a desert race tire that has been DOT approved for the street would be appropriate

if you live in a region of the country where there is no desert and alot of snow during the winter season then maybe a snow/mud tire would be more appropriate than a desert tire...

it's not that difficult to figure this shit out

grabbers ftw, seen race trucks in person run them and have no problems. Then again, if you dont hit the dirt, dont bother running them, save them for the ppl who need them

    Oh yeah, that.

the funny thing (here at least) is that I mistyped "rocket" as "recket", probably should have left it that way.

I have seen a few trucks up here running the Grabbers, mostly, I think, because the letters matched the red paint. I cannot imagine why one would try to tun a desert tire in an area with freezing temps, snow and ice. Come to think of it, they would match MY truck's color pretty well. Hmmm...

I got the grabber at2's and they were fine in this past chicago winter we had...Not super great traction in the snow but enough to pull out a H2 stuck in a ditch with 14" of snow. And yes they weight a ton, but havent notice a significant drop in MPG. Rocket surgery over.

I went with Duratracs since I didn't want to wait for General backorders. I am very impressed with how quiet they run considering how agressive of a tread they are. The grabbers should not have availability problems 3-4 years from now when I wear out these new Duratracs.

I understand the Grabbers are pretty new to the market and it takes time to get all the different size tire molds built and qualified for production output. If they aren't available after I wear these Duratracs out, I'll buy the Duratracs again.

Sorry folks that I did not get back to this thread sooner, work has been stepping on my neck pretty hard lately.

Maybe that's because the Duratrac is developed as a commercial tire.

Talked to cooper tire direct they are still over 6 months backordered. I lucked out and got the last set of 35s here locally. Buddy that owns a 4wd shop said some gi ordered em and never picked em up. He was surprised they're hard to get whole of. I like these tires a lot so far as far as street and highway. Mostly and and rocks out here though almost never snow so I will continue to post up on my ggrl thread as to how they perform
