That is where I was at. Before I had my resonator, I would get this rasp from 2300-3000 RPM that had to go! My resonator made it A LOT better. Might be something to look into...

A stock resonator for what? Our pickups? That's a negative... Your 3" pipe won't change the sound too much anyway, that's more of a backpressure issue though

If you want to tame that rasp a bit I highly recommend one. You might lose a bit of your overall volume, but the change is small. And resonators are like $30. From what I have heard of yours, I would suggest one in the 12-15" range...

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Why are you so bitter towards Banks? You seem to talk a lot of shit about them. Are you a previous employee, or just don't agree with his tactics of busness to build up the company name? I like the sound of the exhaust, and the loss of torque seems minimal from those I 've talked that actually have the system. What tests have you done to back up your opinion, or is it just hearsay? Secondly....

^^^This sounds like poo IMHO. What is up with that rasp as the RPMs drop back down? It sounds like a horse coughing up sand. Was this before or after the cat-delete (which I will not be doing) and before of after the resonator install? Your other driving videos, however, sound really badass (I watched them all). I like the deep tone of the 2525, and of course the price difference.

Please don't interpret this as shit-talking, just stating my opinion, and trying to pick a good sounding system the first time. Some guys on here have thrown 2-3 different mufflers on there, with resonators, cat-deletes, turndowns, Y-pipes, headers, etc. I just want to install ONE, and call it good. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the quick/honest response. +1

You make some great valid points, and as far as the Banks system goes, the hangars they give you are shit, they'll rust through in a matter of months unless you "paint" them with a rust-inhibitor of some kind (which I would definitely do), if you don't, the whole exhaust can just fall off one day, just as you said. I respect yours' & others' opinions here on TW, since that is the main goal of public forums; to provide personal experieneces and share them with others, not just troll and banter back and forth. Thanks again for the help, and I'll be sure to PM you with any more questions.

    UPDATE:

I didn't end up getting the intake and exhaust yet (the girly was bitchin' about spending too much money), but it will be coming soon. I have opted not to go for the Banks kit, and will instead get the aFe Mach power kit to match the intake. It's still 3", but seems to be better quality, and the company has a great reputation and great support.
