i believe that weld comes stock because i have that on my hitch aswell.it looks different because its rusted. the hitch usually doesnt go that far back.

Yes. If the drawbar was welded in, there would be two weld beads. One for the receiver and one for the drawbar. I only see one weld bead on the op's pics.
His drawbar is seized inside the receiver. This is what happens when you ride around with it in all the time, especially up north.

I could see that, his name is captclueless after all

OP, as all the others said it's probably just rusted in there. Spray some pb blaster in there and use some force (back into concrete slab, take a sledge to it, etc.).

It has to be seized up. If you look from the front of the reciever you can see that there is a sleeve that the trailer ball mount slides into and the trailer ball mount. From the rear view you only see ONE piece of square metal tubing. It would be much thicker if the ball mount was pushed all the way back and welded together.

I wonder if it wouldn't be a better idea to just replace that hitch assembly.

If it was welded it would have been welded from the the other side no one is going to lay on their back and weld when they can weld it from the easy side. I have had to cut draw bars off and cut the remains out of the hitch with a torch.

Well, It's definitely not welded in. i got up under there and can see the ball mount part sitting inside the receiver. It's about 6 inches in from the front. I have a friend who has a ton of air tools, and torches. i think he can help me get it out.

well it's FINALLY out! I actually did something similar to the video above. We took a racheting car tie down and wrapped it around a tree, then the other end to the hitch. We racheted it up so there was a bunch of tension. Then we took the torch and heated up the hitch and beat the hell out of it with the sledgehammer. After about half an hour it FINALLY came out.

how anti-climatic, I was expecting a snapping chain resulting in severe injurys.

Doubt it, the sleeve was welded in (as are all "stock" tow package designs). Once he figured out the problem, it was just a matter of working it out.

Although it would've been pretty funny if a chain came apart and broke the window to some rice burner near by. :D
