My taco is fine but my dads 06tundra does this with some ragularity. I have often had to stand there holding the handle down. It should still turn off when it gets full.

My '06 has an issue of spilling gas everytime I fill up. The pump automatically shuts off, then a split second later like 2 cups of gasoline overflows down the side of the truck onto the ground. Doesn't matter what gas station it is. It's embarrassing, and I can't really think of anything to do about except replace the tank and filler neck. I've just gotten used to listening as it's filling and cutting the pump off manually when I think it's full.

in california (not sure if it is the same for nevada), the pumps have a vapor return mechanism. if there is alot of vapor coming through the pump, it thinks that your tank is full and shuts off the gas. you can always pull that mechanism back away from the mouth of the gas tank. that will prevent the pump from shutting off due to access vapors.

    EDIT:
just confirmed with my wife (who lived in vegas for 12 years) that nevada does have the vapor return mechanism on their gas pumps.

Have you lined the inside of your fuel hose with plasti-dip? I heard it was supposed to help the fuel slide down the hose faster and make the gas slippippiery. Thus giving you faster refill times and making the truck run more effecient because of the reduced load on the electric fuel pump to pressurize the fuel rails. Less load on the fuel pump means less load on the electrical system, meaning the alternator works less. This means less draw on the crank meaning more free power! PLASTIDIP FOR THE WIN!!!
