I'm a new member from the North West with one question on my mind.I'm ready to purchase a new 2011 Access cab,4.0L V6,TRD Sport,Std Bed and thinking that I would prefer a standard transmission over the auto for the performance advantages gained if required.
Toyota claims that the auto will get 2 mpg better than the standard and I guess I'm old school and find this hard to believe.I'm 60 years young and will not be heavy on the pedal so my thinking is that I should be able to beat the auto.
I need some feedback as to real life mpg between the two transmissions. Thanks all and look forward to to the future with Tacoma World.

I'm not sure on the MPG difference but welcome to TW and I hope you find the right truck for you.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Buy the auto unless you really like shifting.
