I went to go buy 285's finally today! And when I got there they said. Sorry we can only sell you stock tires, so I asked if I could buy the 285's and put them on myself. Yeah with no warrenty? Thats straight bullshit! Now I need to find somewhere who sells them semi cheap and has warrenty's for the tires.
They are 285/75/16 bfg A/t KO baja champions

They don't want the liability if something fails. I don't blame them. I also recommend discount tire. I have bought from them once.

I quit going there years ago. I think they are way too expensive on the membership and I think the idea is stupid "I have to pay you just to be able to buy from you". I only had memberships in the past from deals they offered through work and it cost next to nothing to join.

On a side note, I did get tires from them years ago on a Nissan p/u with after market wheels and the size wasn't stock. Of course that was about 10 or 11 years ago. But one thing I do remember was that Wally World had the same tire and although the price per tire was slightly more, the drive out would have been almost the exact same price due to cheaper mount and balance. So maybe try Wal-Mart? I just don't care for the kids they have working in the bays. I was with my dad one time at WM while waiting for his free rotation and we were standing there in plain view, one of the kids pulling another car out squalling the tires. Of course they didn't do that to my dads car since we were standing there.
