Frame Question Re: Offroad

If I got a little air on a rough section of trail in my truck and needed an alignment afterwards, I probably still didn't do enough to bend my frame, right? And if I had, I'd know? (Drives fine post-alignment). I was going maybe 20mph.

 

i think you should be fine man. its a tacoma it can handle it

 

Does the frame look bent? Was it a very hard landing?

 

You're more likely to bend upper control arm mounts, lower control arm mounts, spindles, or break a motor mount up front then you are to bend the frame. The rear is a different story...you'll know it's bent when your cab no longer aligns with your bed.

Having bent spindles, LCA's, and broken a motor mount; my advice is if ain't broke don't fix it. Lift the front end off the ground and check for excessive play and visible damage. If you see nothing wrong and it drives fine then you're good to go.

I did already check, didn't notice anything wrong. The thread about Raptors just got me thinking... although those guys went 125mph!

 

I've bent shot at 2 MPH and at 50 MPH. If you push it, it will break - that is the definition of pushing it.

The raptor guys are delusional and think their 6000 pound full size, mid travel trucks are trophy trucks. That's why they break shit.

 

just check all your bolts on all suspension parts.

 

not true !! i bent my rack and tie rods and bent my frame ....... LCA UCA were perfect lol
