how dark can you tint your windows in cali?

    No. There's no legal tint on the side windows...period. Doesn't mean you can't get away with it.

    As for the whole 70%, if you try to argue that, you have to have in your posession "...a certificate signed by the installing company certifying that the windows with the material installed meet the requirements..."
    Anyone get a certificate that says thier tint meets all requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 205 (49 C.F.R. 571.205), including the specified minimum light transmittance of 70 percent and the abrasion resistance of AS-14 glazing, as specified in that federal standard when they got their windows tinted????? I think not.

    I wouldnt know. I take it by your 5 question marks that there is no tint vendor in CA that offers such certification?

    Front windows you can put 72% which is basically nothing
    and rear is whatever but if you start stacking sheets on sheets it want last will cause problems with windows going up and down and peel

    k&n cold air intake, pacer rims, mud tires, 12 kicker cvr, pioneer speakers, kenwood and jl amps, 5% tint on back windows, 3% tint on driver/passenger, 2% on windshield,
    I have been pulled over for limo tint on the front two, and asked the cop if he would have pulled me over if i had 3s on the front two. He said no....sir
