Ok so i know you cant fit stock wheels on a 6" suspension lift, but i was wondering if you just did a 3" suspension 3" body could you still keep stock wheels and be able to run 35s with this setup any reply will be greatly appreciated.

I was just in hawaii for a week.

What's with the obsession with *huge* tires there anyway? I don't get it.

Guys run 35"s with 3" lifts. But it entails cutting and other stuff lol. It would work but body lifts over 1" in my opinion are ugly. And the majority of people on this site hate them. Its frowned upon. The gap it leaves between the bed and front just looks bad.

Here is a 3" susp and 3" body, courtesy of "danglinfurry" not his/her truck though.

But some would argue the bigger the tire it will climb easier. I remember n0rth saying he went on a trail with 33"s and it was much easier with 35"s.

I forget not everyone wheels lol. I think best for looks is a db and some 35"s on 20"s but he wants to retain his stock wheels so the best cheapest route is 3" susp 3" body wheel spacers and done.

It may fit but you're going to be hitting more issues than it's worth imo. First you've got an 8inch wide wheel and most the 35's I've seen and delivered were 12+. This is going to create bulging and you're going to need spacers to keep the tire off things on the inside. You're still probably going to have problems with rubbing. A lot of people on here frown on body lifts because there is a serious safety concern with them.

You're best bet for trouble free is to get a 6 inch lift, do some chopping and get after market wheels.

How so? You can in fact do what you want? You can get a 3" suspension and a 3" body lifts and run 35"s on stock wheels if you get wheel spacers? Or you can save some more coin and get a drop bracket lift and run 35"s on after market wheels. You have 2 choices. Are you going to be doing any offroading?

X2 On this. On a previous rig I had I ran a trail called Iron Chest that was basically all boulders as the trail. With 33's I had a much harder time crawling it not really due to ground clearance under the truck but the approach on the rocks. Came back the next year with 35" tires and coasted over the trail. So yeah if you were wheeling IMO 35's do help.

:D there is a thread on ttora with a good example on how bigger tires = easier climbing.

I am aware ;) but there are some db guys who wheel hard like tacoridinhigh

a friend of mine had a 3" suspension + 3" body lift on his 05 DC for a while. he ran 35s and it looked bamf. rode like shit and he couldnt turn very sharp, but i know he did minimal trimming. maybe a little more cutting and they would've fit better

i do plan on doing some off roading every chance i get and by no means do i want a shitty setup i just love the way stock rims look with an aggressive tire on them, so i guess i will just have to go with the 6 inch suspension and aftermarket wheels also

Actually I am on the stock TRD rims and plan to move to 35's (or the metric equivalent) with my next set of tires. I am running a close to a 3" lift and here is what I plan to do to prepare for the 35's:

    • Aftermarket UCA's - to get the max lift of 3"s (adj. coilovers)
    • Body mount chop
    • A bit more fender chopping/trimming
    • Already have SpiderTrax 1.25" hub centric wheel spacers - Bulletproof!

    • regear to 4.56 and while I am at it add an ARB locker up front.
I do not have and will not be running a body lift at all. Lower center of gravity man!
