I finally picked up a set of JL amps, a 250/1 and a 300/4. I have an entire set of JL 6.5's now and I'm about ready to strip the JBL system completely.

My question is, when you remove the stock JBL amp from behind the rear seat in a double cab, can you still retain all the plastic fairings, or is it all one piece, or will I have a hole where the sub was... I know the sub and amp are one unit back there.

Also, I should have direct feed to the speaker wires back there correct?

Did you figure this out? I'm interesting knowing your findings.

There's no attachment of the sub/amp portion with the plastic cover. If you take out the amp/sub, you can still put the plastic cover back on. Is that what you're asking?

edit: of course now behind the plastic piece, you'll have free space.
