TPMS sensor vs fix a flat? Will it screw it up?

To make a long story short, Fiance took my Taco to town Saturday, got a puncture in the center of the tire. A guy stopped to help, plugged the tire and put fix a flat in it before I could tell her not to let him put the fix a flat in there. I do not like that stuff but oh well I'm glad it got her home.

I checked the tire Sunday morning and it only had about 25 psi. I would think that should have triggered the TPMS sensor light. It did not.
My question, will fix a flat ruin the TPMS sensor?

There's a percentage the tires can be off from one another before it'll trigger the light (I can't remember what it is). I'd drain the air to 15 psi and let it run for a minute to see if the light triggers. I'd guess it possible the fix a flat could have sealed up the sensor.

 

Yea i cant stand that goop! I didn't think about it til after she said he put it in there. At the moment I'm thinking the sensor must be working to some extent because if it wasn't the sensor light would be on due to the fact of a malfunctioning sensor. I dunno for sure though. I sure don't want to have to spend 120 on a new sensor.
I'll try letting the air down this evening like you said to try and trigger the sensor. Thats a good idea! Thanks
