Quitting a job, do they have to pay you your vacation pay?

    Had a buddy lose his job at a certain massive shopping store, they sent him his paid vacation money a month later. He had no idea they where going to give it to him.

    the company i worked for didnt pay vacation days out. period. meaning if you didnt use them you lose them, if you quit then you dont get paid. they did however pay out for your sick days that were unused but only if you made it though the year without using them. if you quit, well you lost them too. its up up to company policy.

    What if you take a vacation and then work a couple of days after and quit? Do they have to pay you for your vacation?

    i know its an old thread but, i doubt they are required to pay him out, its not even required that they give paid vacation

    yes, but he stated he couldnt take vacation because it was in a busy season.
