Yeah, I showed up at the guys shop after the fact and apparently they are the 1st generation extended travel made for the tacoma directly by fox as an OE replacement before they became common, but still its fishy. I could never find the part numbers either

I'm bringing this thread back to life. Any other info on these shocks with those part numbers? Did you contact Fox to verify info? How are they working out?

Ive moved on to bigger and badder things, never got an answer about the part number from fox. They worked fine, and if they had a different top plate bolt they would have fit fine so I guess they were okay.

Oh, so you never put them on?

I called Fox's OffRoad division and spoke to a tech. He said they should fit in. I guess "should" being the caveat. Did you buy them from the Ebay seller? What did you do with them? Sold them?

How'd they drive? Why didn't you like them? Did you have to do anything special to make them fit into the coilbucket, like grinding or filiing or?

Other than being discountinued and about 4 yrs out of production, I'd think they should work alright. One bad thing is that being this old, the tech said they'd not be covered by any warranty even if brand new. He really didn't know anything about them, only going by a computer search which took awhile.

Wait a minute! Where is this dude's shop located? Would it happen to be in Gilroy and is the guys name is Pat Howard?
