Can anyone recommend a cleaner wax/polish that will not stain the black overfenders, grill surround, door handles, etc? Something that you have used that is not extremely hard to use. It would be nice to find a product that could be used on the paint and on the black trim areas. Not looking for spray detailing products.

Although not impossible, it is certainly harder to find something that fits your requirements that is NOT a spray. What is it that you don't like about sprays?

As I've said here before, my favorite waxes are:

    - Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax
    - Duragloss Aquawax
    - CSI Q-7 Wax (which my company sells here)

what about that new turtle wax ice. its a liquid that you apply and rub off 10 min later. you can get it on all plastic or rubber trim and it won't turn pasty white. it actually shines the black trim and rubber molding. I applied it about 45 days ago and I still get super nice water beading.

yeah I've been using the turtle wax ice paste lately and have been pretty happy with it.

Haven't tried actually using it on the black plastic trim, as I use other products for that, but if I accidentally get it on there it just wipes off no problem.

I think of a spray as a short term, temporary treatment. I have had new vehicles delivered that were "spray waxed" and it was more like they had been oiled. In short they were a problem to clean. I have a friend with great looking vehicles, that is until you touch them. He is using Turtle Wax Ice and the finish stays sticky. I have had the best luck with polishes that contain no wax at all.

^I haven't had the problem you mentioned with any of the three products I listed above.

I use Race Glaze religiously on all my vehicles. Goes on smooth and is easy to remove, lasts 4 to 6 months. Love the stuff.

I'm pretty sure Klasse All in One won't stain those things. I've been happy with it.

Thanks for all of the replies! To add to the list of options, I found that ArmorAll has a polish called Ultra Shine Liquid Polish. This was super easy to use on the cover of our Mercury Outboard which has rough black plactic trim. No white stain. They also recommend Ultra Shine Butter Smooth Wax which I have yet to try. Neither product dries to a white haze. Again the promise is no stain on plastic trim. Got these at a Target and there is a rebate! (Cheap!) The polish produced a great shine. Will see how the wax works and how this stuff lasts.
    Thanks
    Tom

Just started using Turtle Wax Ice and the detail spray to maintain. Works great with no staining. Give it a try.

Bingo! I've been using it for years on my cars.... the darker the vehicle, the better it will look.

I've used quite a few products out there, but Race Glaze beats them all with ease of application and longevity.

BTW, it's not a wax or silicone :)

just be careful when waxing. thats the best way. Work smarter not harder.
