Just wondering if any of you have purchased this kit from ebay seller aircabinman...

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&viewitemversion=&item=180651555010&view=all&tid=691978547008#ht_1915wt_939

I read somewhere that some people had bought it and thought it was a quality kit....however I just received the kit in the mail and the word "china" seems to be everywhere which I have a reactionary nervousness too. Waterpump brand name is GMB and belt is Mitsuboshi. Thoughts? Think I'm kickin myself here and shoulda bought OEM for something like this, or am I being over anal-retentive here?...:(

the kit you linked doesn't say OEM , the complete kit which includes all the belts and seals states OEM, if you don't trust it see about a return? ? I would use it and call it good, he has a high feedback % I would do it

Thanks for that site. Japanengines looks pretty legit..

Yeah i didnt notice that till right after I pressed "purchase". I think this kit is crap...don't want to have to be in there replacing another water pump in 20,000 miles.

I understand your situation, shipping is on you to return the parts, so you have money going out to return it. I bought a brand new pump from a quality autoparts dealer, I did the cam seals, pump, belts everything except the tensioners and idler pully. Mine is a bad story, I ended up having to do the cam seals and pump a second time, warranty covered the parts but I had to cover the labor charge. But on a side note I watched the guy, My friend do it, and now I can do it on my own the next time. Good luck and in my opinion, made in china doesn't ALWAYS mean worthless crap. It's just an unfortunate fact of life in America, things are made in China.

The best stuff IMO. They dont sell cheap the parts they sell and the packages they put together are the best. You cant go wrong.

Belt was a OMC now its a MITS. ( omc does timing belt for toy, nissan and others)
    PPI for the tensioner
    NTN for the bearings
    Aisin for the water pump.

    hope this helps.

I now know NOT to buy there stuff anymore. Its getting harder and harder to find really good parts anymore to a point.

EDIT: GMB.. autozone and advance auto parts use.

I was searching for aircabinman, and I know this is a VERY old thread, but I came across it and thought I'd chime in because I used to work for AirCabinMan.

He sells 3 levels of these kits, at different price points. The VERY cheap one is the one referenced, which uses the GMB stuff. The other two are a OEM kit (Aisin, Bando, Mitsuboshi...) and then a Genuine Toyota kit.

yes its a very old thread (5 yrs old in fact lol) but I guess it can maybe be a useful heads up notice to someone else who is about to make the same mistake of not reading the descriptions carefully.

he bought the economy version kit that did not say it contained oem or oem brand parts

aircabinman has different levels of kits,

the oem Toyota kit with all oem Toyota part numbers and labels - most expensive
the oem "brand" kit with original oem brand parts manufacturers but without Toyota part number stickers - much better price for exact same parts
the generic replacement parts kits using non oem aftermarket suppliers to save money - obviously the least expensive

if anyone buys the wrong kit you just have to send him a message telling him you want to return it to get the "good" kit with oem "brand" parts. he is a good seller.

if anyone is looking, this one here is the oem "basic" kit: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Complete-V6-3-4-TIMING-BELT-KIT-WATER-PUMP-Genuine-OE-Manufacture-Parts-/190580750996?fits=Make:Toyota|Engine+-+Liter_Display:3.4L&hash=item2c5f7f7a94:g:aGYAAOSwnDZUFgTb

if you compare the brands and part numbers between the "oem Toyota" kit vs the "oem name brands" kit you will see almost everything is the exact same parts, you just aren't paying the extra markup costs for Toyota to put a Toyota part number sticker on the bag or box

Yep just ordered this kit a few weeks ago. Excellent kit for the money. I just installed it a week ago. Aircabinman is the only one on fleebay I would buy it from. All OEM parts.
