Ball joint spacers and lift blocks, am I doing it right?
Those look like some pretty serious spots. I don't think I would bring the wife and kid. It also looks like I should get the locker and CB in before checking them out.

Major pucker factor on that hill climb Paul.

i could have made it over that.....

i was trying not to comment but since you insist, that was pretty mild compared to some of the shit i've driven over.....it might be alot worse than whats seen in the vid, but i'm willing to bet i could make it through with 2 tries....at the most.:D

this is why i said no comment, plenty of others on here have seen me in action to justify my above statement.....

picking the right line through an obstacle is paramount. inches can mean the difference......

I'm sure you have gone thru a lot but High Center Hill is something else I thing the guy in the FJ was in 4 HI & was trying to use speed & he needed some tires also.
Myself I would use 4 LO but Hi Center Hill in a 2nd Gen. Taco w/out being lift maybe 6" or more will be hard & with a 4 door even harder, the wheel base is too long dude, the top of the hill is only 10" too 12" and it drops back down so you see the problem!!!!

I here ya man, its kinda hard to see what it looks like from the vid. but i think if i got a decent run at it and got past my trucks center of gravity on my sliders i should be able to get over it. if not, i have a high lift...:D

No problem with comments. That is what a forum is good for. IMHO

No offense taken or given! [IMG]

And I would be willing to bet you, in a heartbeat, even if it had better conditions then we had on that day! :D

Besides what others have said about the main problem is the top is to narrow and drops down quick on the other side.

I also think you are over looking another crucial factor, the wet, sloppy, and slippery factor. Notice Karl slides back down the hill even with the brakes locked sometimes. That was the reason we needed lots of tire spinning, tread cleaning (even with his crappy dunflops, but others even with great mud tires got high-centered) just to get up to the top. But the slipperiness also meant you could NOT choose the best line. (if there was one.) It was wet, clay, limestone and mud combined that made it very hard also! Karl, and everyone else, tried to jump the top of the hill, but for ALL the factors could not, and hence, the name of the hill!

Add the short S-cruve effect, you need to turn Passenger at the bottom (in the nasty mud) then climb the hill, then at the top turn Driver to try and get up and over. There is just no way to get a straight and fast running start at the hill.

Add the ground angle at the top on the passenger side, because that kept sliding the tires and the FJC back down towards the drivers side.

Add one last, obstacle. There was a big rock right at the very top also. :D

Besides, trust me, there were a few of us, FJC guys who did lots and lots and lots (years) of crazy stuff. We know how to wheel. (Ahem, and we were humble also. :D)

About the "High Lift" unless you were going to use it as a winch ( as I have) it would not have done much good here. The ground in front and in the back drops away very quick at a steep angle. And don't forget the slipperiness. :D

Besides, if you want to see if you can follow me sometime, I would be happy to have you try. lol :) :D Do you live in the Tampa area? I have just the place for a little challenge. lol  :D

I made this quick little "Movie Trailer" just to play with the new iMovie application. So there are a couple of close to repeat photos. I did not have to time to make a real killer "Movie Trailer"! lol

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgHLQT0gTKA

One last thing. I think if you ask most anyone who went wheeling in Citrus on 4-30-2011 with me, they can vouch for my wheeling capabilities! :)

    Again, no offense meant. [IMG]
