I have an '09 Tacoma double cab auto 4x4 and Friday afternoon it wouldn't start after parking it from a one block trip that morning. Checked the battery and all connections and even tried to jump start with no luck. Finally broke down and called the Toyota dealership and had it towed in. It still sits in the dealership shop with the center console torn apart because the mechanic says the computer says it is the park/neutral safety switch. The service advisor also told me there is a bulletin on this problem. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I'm lucky because I am still under the 3 year 36,000 miles (I'm close with 33K though!) for warranty to cover it!

It was my doings that caused this problem. I was pulling siren wires ( I am an EMT/Firefighter) through the firewall on the passenger side through the convenient grommeted hole in the firewall and managed to somehow snag and pull apart the park/neutral safety switch wires that go to the harness on the right side of the glove box. They are small (22 to 24 AWG I believe) and run between the firewall and the insulation (you won't see them) so if you use this convenient predrilled hole PLEASE be careful and don't make my mistake! FYI :censored::homer: I have run wires for all my stuff in 4 different trucks (all full size Chevy/GMC and Fords) and even drilled through firewalls with no issues but not this instance!
