Is anyone running the Moto Metal 951 17x9? What tire size are you running on them? Think i want to go with this wheel setup but not sure if I'll need spacers and i don't think the stock 265/65r17s are wide enough.

Anything is wide enough....some people fit 11.5's on 10" rims, dont ask why but they do

Should be fine with that size, makes sure you get the right offset and backspacing in case you decide to do a 3" lift later on with larger tires :D

So running the stock 265/65r17s on that wheel won't change the overall height of the tire? i don't want to get outta sync with the spare and don't care to get the speedo inaccurate.

sorry to say most speedo's are inaccurate from the factory. most vehicles that role out of the plant are 2-5% IIRC.

all you are doing is changing the width of the rim, that would not affect the height at all. it will not even affect the tread width, the only thing it will do is "balloon" the sidewall out a little more.

    tires are read as follows:

265 is the width in mm
    65 is the sidewall height, 65% of 265 is 172mm or 6 3/4"
    17 rim diameter

So in order to increase the tire height, either the width needs to change and the aspect ratio remains the same or the aspect ratio goes up. I would say going with a 265/70/16 would actually get your speedo closer to "on".

as long as your tire is wider than the rim you will be find, which the 265/65/17 are about 10.4 inches wide so a 17x9 will be fine. but you wouldnt want to put to wide of a tire on it like a 33x16.5
